Came across this one in Kerala and no clue what species this is .. Help please??
Was chilling out in Confident Cascade in a party arranged by my company when I came across this sun. Could not resist taking a snap at this opportunity since it almost seemed like a huge orange ball trapped within the cables from my position.
Wishing all you skywatchers a wonderful and successful New Year ahead !!

Taken @ the Chowallur Temple near Gurvayur, Kerala… Being the first day of Thiruvathira (Thiruvathira is the Malayalam month of Dhanu(December-January)) The calendar followed is obviously way different from the Gregorian Calendar. During this season, 1 lakh (100,000) lamps are lit in the temple. MOre pictures of that in my upcoming posts.
A Kathakali exponent applying makeup before the commencement of the performance. Kathakali is the traditional dance of Kerala where each of the performers depict the characters from Indian epics and mythology. Their costumes are Xtremely colorful with very intricate makeup and getups. Natural paints and extracts are used on the face and most of the complicated designs are applied by the performers themselves. In most cases the male and the female characters are always performed by men !!
This performance can be seen in Fort Kochi in the Kathakali Centre behind Santa Cruz church… All my fellow ABC Wednesday bloggers, hope you had a lovely X-Mas and have a lovely New Year ahead !!
